Firsland Animal Sanctuary was founded in 1994 by Maxine Corbitt. It is independently run and relies entirely on funds received from well wishers, local fund-raising events and the Firsland Animal Charity shop in Torquay. Maxine works every single day of the year looking after over 300 creatures, many of whom are too old or sick to be re-homed.
